The Dads’ Wellbeing Research Network was founded in 2026 following on from outcomes gathered from USW’s “Power to the Dads” Research Report
Research was carried out by University of South Wales in the 2024-2025 academic year as part of BSc Childhood Development group dissertation in partnership with Children in Wales (CiW).
An online survey was created to explore dads’ voices and the extent to which they feel they are being heard, dads’ participation in matters that impact their children, dads’ understanding of children’s rights, and dads’ perceived level of support on their fatherhood journeys.
Following on from the release of the '“Power to the Dads” Research Report in 2025, a consensus event was held on June 4th 2026 at University of South Wales titled Working Together for Dads’ Wellbeing in Wales.
Silence Speaks were humbled to have been asked to partner with this event that formed the foundation of The Dads’ Wellbeing Research Network (DAWRN), where around 40 organisations, charities, & CIC’s came together to collectively identify 5 key priorities for supporting dads’ wellbeing in Wales.
We would like to thank Dr. Klara Price, For Dads By Dads, & all of the other wonderful services that made this event possible. We look forward to meeting with you all again soon at the network’s next event.
